I heard that they were shut down because of a "Leak" that was posted on the site.

^ I highly doubt that would be the case, and I highly doubt that Rockstar would let anything leak about Grand Theft Auto V before it is ready for announcing. They have been experiencing some server-stability issues though and last I heard, they were moving servers so the downtime could be a result of this.
